About Us

Welcome to the Caroline Springs Fire Brigade Website.

The Brigade is located about 20km west of Melbourne, and around 15km east of Melton in the state of Victoria, with a second station located in Hillside about 7 km north. Both stations are part of the one Brigade. We are an intergrated fire Brigade which means that there are both paid and volunteer personnel.

Our state based management agency is the Country Fire Authority of Victoria (CFA). When staff started at the station on June 05 2002, there were 2300 residents living in Caroline Springs. Within six years, that number has jumped to 14,000 and growing rapidly.

Part of our area has been zoned heavy industrial and there are a number of heavy industry businesses considering the move into the area. There is a minimum of three staff on duty at any one time, and approximately 30 active volunteer members available to attend emergencies. In the 2006 - 2007 period the brigade recieved 724 calls for assistance.

The Brigade has a history stretching back 60 years, formally known as Sydenham Fire Brigade operating out of a tin shed. If you would like further information about the Brigade please contact us via email or call the Duty Officer on +61 03 9360 5679 (Business hours).

The current Officer in Charge of the Brigade is Operations Officer John Anderson.
