Operations
The Caroline Springs Fire Brigade, has a primary response area covering approximately 153 square kilometres. This area incorporates the communities of Caroline Springs, Burnside, Taylors Hill, Hillside and Plumpton.
The Brigade also supports the Metropolitan Fire & Emergency Services Board on some incidents in the areas of Deer Park, Sunshine, Derrimut, Taylors Lakes and Sydenham.
The Brigade operates with five emergency appliances, being 2 Tankers (one 4WD), a Pumper/Tanker, one Pumper and one 4WD car.
As an intergrated CFA brigade, we operate with 10 career staff working 4 shifts, A,B,C,D and a reliever shift (E). Our on duty staff consists of a Fire Officer and a leading fire fighter or fire fighter. Staff work two 10 hour day shifts followed by two 14 hour night shifts and then have a 4 day break.
The Volunteer structure has 4 operational Lieutenants;
1st Lieutenant: Roy Worner
2nd Lieutenant: Michael Wright
3rd Lieutenant: Joe Ewer
4th Lieutenant: Adam Murray
Other non operational roles include Community Safety Team Leader, Training Team Leader, Public Relations & Fundraising Team Leader, Administration & Finance Team Leader and Equipment Team Leader.
As a brigade we attend to a variety of fire and emergency calls. During the 2006 - 2007 financial year, the brigade responded to 724 calls for assistance.
